This recipe is a bit harder than some but it tastes great when it's made. Before we start cooking, there are a few safety tips to remember:1. Wash your hands2. Make sure all your cooking utensils are clean3. Keep all sharp equipment out of the wayFirstly heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil in a saucepan and gently fry the garlic and the onion for about 5 minutes. Then add the other 2 tablespoons of olive oil, along with the peppers, courgettes and aubergine and continue to cook over a moderate heat for 5 more minutes. Now add the tinned tomatoes, tomato puree and the herbs. Pour in the water; reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally.Leave this to cook for 30 minutes.Next, while the sauce is cooking we need to cook the pasta for 10 minutes until it's tender. (Look back at the recipe for pasta and sweet corn salad if you need help on cooking pasta.)Finally drain the pasta and add a large spoonful of the sauce.Really tasty!!

This recipe is really easy and is great with a homemade burger. Before we start cooking, there are a few safety tips to remember:1. Wash your hands2. Make sure all your cooking utensils are clean3. Keep all sharp equipment out of the wayFirstly turn on the hob and bring a large pan of water to the boil. When the water is boiling carefully add the pasta. Give it a stir and then reduce the heat. Leave the pasta cooking for about 10 minutes. Now to cook the sweet corn. Bring a small pan of water to the boil and then add the sweet corn. It only needs to cook for about 3 minutes.Next we strain the pasta and the sweet corn. This can be a bit tricky so ask a grown up to help. Finally when the pasta and sweetcorn are cool, mix it all together and drizzle over the olive oil.Enjoy!

This recipe takes a long time to make but it is definitely worth making it!! Homemade bread is so yummy compared with shop bread. 1.Firstly put all dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl. That's the flour, yeast, salt and sugar. Give it a stir and make sure it's all mixed together.2.Then add all the liquids, stir with a wooden spoon until dough begins to form. This is the messy bit!! 3.Use your hands to bring it together. When all the ingredients are incorporated into the dough ball, knead it for about 10 minutes. (To knead you need all your strength watching the podcast might help!)4.When the dough is kneaded, let it prove for 45 minutes to 60 minutes. It's a good idea to put it back in the mixing bowl.5.After 45 60 minutes remove the dough from the bowl and knock it back by kneading for a further 1 minute. You could then shape it into two oblong loaves, or create a loaf all of your own and place in a large roasting tin close to each other. 6.Finally let the dough prove again for about 45 minutes until it doubles in size. 7.Now you are ready to put your loaves into the oven. Bake at 180 Degrees Celsius or gas mark 6 for about the grid shelf 25 minutes on a middle shelf.8.When the bread is ready it should be golden brown and smell amazing. Carefully turn out onto a work surface upside down. Be careful is you wan to eat it straight away as it will be very hot!Enjoy!

This is quite a fun recipe and should take about 25 minutes to make. Before you get started, you'll need to pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees C or gas mark 6. 1. The first thing to prepare is the bread. To make the breadcrumbs, you'll need toasted bread, so put your bread in the toaster and toast it until its light brown.2. Break the toast up into smaller pieces, crusts and all, put the pieces inside a large plastic freezer bag and using a rolling pin, crush them into tiny breadcrumbs if you've got a food processor you can use that instead, but this is much more fun!3. For a bit of extra flavour, we're going to add some paprika. Paprika is a seasoning powder made from red peppers. About ¼ teaspoon should do. Give it a good shake. Then, put the breadcrumbs into a deep tray ready to coat the chicken. 4. Next step is to get the chicken pieces ready. For this you'll need an egg and about 125ml of milk. Beat the egg and milk in a large bowl until it's a nice smooth liquid then add the chicken pieces and give them a good stir so they're well covered by the mixture. 5. Then add the chicken pieces to the breadcrumbs tray, roll up your sleeves and coat all of the pieces evenly with breadcrumbs.6. The last thing you'll need is to get the baking tray ready. To make sure the chicken doesn?t stick to the tray, you need to use a greased baking sheet, smeared with a bit of oil. Lay the chicken pieces on the tray and pop them in the oven for 10 minutes. Now you can enjoy your chicken nuggets with the sweet corn and pasta salad!

If you like the look of this recipe why not come to the Essex ICT exhibition on 24th and 25th April to see us cooking this tasty recipe! It's called Excite, cause that is what will happen. To find out more go to www.e-gfl.org To kick things off, you need tomake sure the skewers that you're going to use later are nice and soft, so put them to soak while you get started on the fruit. You'll also need to pre-heat the grill so that it's nice and warm from the moment you start cooking. You can use whatever fruit you like - if you've got fresh stuff, great, but if not, tinned will do fine.1. Cut the fruit up into chunks.2. Put the fruit to one side while you prepare the honey and sugar coating. Add the sugar and honey to a small saucepan, give it a bit of a mix and warm it through.Make sure it doesn't boil though, as it won't taste too good!3. Once that's done, thread the fruit onto the skewers, give it a good coating of the honey and sugar mixture and pop them in the grill for 5 minutes.4. When they're done, they should be a nice golden brown. When you're handling things from the grill, make sure you wear oven gloves soyou don't burn yourself.

If you are a bit bored with plain old cheese on toast you might enjoy fancycheese on toast using bacon, pesto and spinach. All in all it should take about20-25 minutes to make.1. Heat about a tablespoon of olive oil in a small frying pan and cook the baconuntil it's nice and crisp, should take 5 to 10 minutes.2. Next up, we need to toast the bread.3. Now, to give the cheese on toast some fancy flavour, you need to spreadpesto on the toasted bread, right to the edges so it's all covered.4. Give the spinach a good wash under the tap and then boil a small saucepan ofwater. It should only take about a minute to cook.5. When the spinach is done, lay some of the wilted leaves on top of the baconon top of the toasted bread and get some grated cheese.6. Sprinkle the cheese on top and then cook the toast under the grill until itsbubbling and golden brown.Don't forget the oven gloves!

So, for boiled eggs and soldiers the first thing you need is some eggs!1. Half fill a saucepan with cold water and place it on the hob on quite a high heatso the water boils quickly.Don't forget to make sure the handles of the saucepan are facing inwards so youdon't knock it over!2. Pop the eggs in the water, using a big wooden spoon so you don't burnyourself, and turn the heat down a bit so it's simmering rather than boiling.3. For soft yolks you need to boil the eggs for about 5 minutes. If you prefer hardyolks, leave them for about 7 minutes.4. While they're cooking, put some bread in the toaster and butter it when it'sready, then the toast into strips to make soldiers.5. When the eggs are cooked, lift them out of the saucepan.6. Pop the eggs into an egg cup and take the top off the top of the egg with aspoon. Now you are all for dipping your soldiers into your eggs.
